Your Level 4 is expiring? Plan your renewal – and use the opportunity for an upgrade.
Level 4 Expires After 4 Years
ICAO Level 4 (Operational) is valid for 4 years from the exam date. Before it expires, you must sit a re-evaluation. Without a valid language proficiency endorsement, you may no longer conduct English radiotelephony – your operational flexibility would be significantly restricted.
Tip: Plan your renewal 3–6 months before expiry. This gives you sufficient time for preparation and, if needed, a second attempt.
Seize the Opportunity: Upgrade to Level 5 or 6
The renewal exam is an ideal opportunity to aim for a higher level. Our Open Exam assesses your actual proficiency – you can achieve Level 4, 5 or 6.
Level 4
Valid 4 years. Re-evaluation required every 4 years.
Level 5
Valid 6 years. Two more years of peace – and lower costs long-term.
Level 6
Valid indefinitely. Never sit a renewal exam again – a one-time investment.
